There were two badges gold for advanced and silver for basic operators. Now there is only the one badge for all (soldier) operators. There are variations for Mess Dress as always.

DHU (not DHO, that's a slightly different outfit) is and always has been tri-service. All three services now wear the same badge on No 2 dress (or service equivalent). The older versions for RAF blues and RM lovats are now obselete. They are only worn by agent handlers. The other trades/qualifactions in the unit do not have a specific trade badge.

As Marc says, there are various versions in assorted colours for mess dress.

Regs state that only ORs may wear them on posting back to parent units but the Int Corps (in particular) seem to flout that rule, altough they are not alone in that. It was approved for wear in 2010.

Any idea what Beret these geezers wear while posted in the DHU, I've seen their stable belt but no idea what headdress they have
