Civilian Military Government Officer shoulder title, B.M.A. Eritrea

A recent purchase slightly out of my area of interest, however this Civilian Military Government Officer shoulder title, ex-Prof Charles Thomas collection, is attributed to J.D. Winsome of the Ministry of Agriculture, who was issued it (but doesn’t appear to have worn it much, if at all) in Eritrea in the 1940s.

Was this shoulder title not worn in Germany after WW11?
I have a pair of these plus a metal version that had four lugs, sadly broken off.

Yes, it was used in Germany and I imagine anywhere there was a Military Government pending eventual control to civilian authorities. This particular one is attributed as I noted and appears on the fourth board of Lot 8: Insignia of East African Colonial Forces, sold at Olympia Auctions in 2018 as part of the Prof. Charles Thomas collection.
