Simon - To get a Sherwood Foresters with original lugs and not a slider is quite an achievement. Nice badges - nice price ! You must be very pleased. David

Hi david/Jim. Yes, quite a find. I was surprised to get the Northamptonshire ($1.05) and the Foresters ($5.00) for what I did. The MGC was more than both of them together. I'm not on the lookout for Edwardian usually, but when they come along I take a shot.
I think everyone passed on the Northamptonshire as it had one of those cheap American style pinch clips at he back. When I got it was only glued on, as you can see from the glue remaining. I'll see if I can freeze it and break of the glue also where the lugs use to be to, as they had upside down nails glued on as replacement lugs. I'll get it off with a bunch soon to the Uk for repair. Thanks and cheers Simon. |

This is what I bought the Northamptonshire based on. I thought it was soldered on. Luckily not.

Badge origins
Simon, I think you had a good buy, did you buy them from someone on your side of the millpond?

yes quite scarce, the scroll changed from Derbyshire to Notts & Derby in 1902, then sliders were introduced in 1903... So these lugged examples were manufactured for a matter of months! Athough quite likely to be worn for sometime afterwards! Andy |

Yes, I got them from a chap in Ontario Canada of Ebay. Thanks for the date Andy, I'll put that in the description.
