Default Gloucestershire Regt TF Badges

hi chaps
pictures of 2 Glos regt TF cap badges
put side by side there are a number of differences between these 2 badges
size,pattern of sphinx ect
is this because one is of earlier manufactuer than other ?
or is there some other reason ?
thanks in advance
