That sounds about right. Unless You have provenance it would be pure speculation as to when it was made.
Not trying to knock any of the berets but it’s just how it is.

Default Beret WW11 or postwar

There must be something I'm missing here. Does someone collect these berets and if so are they worth a lot of money which I doubt.

I presume it must be something Special Forces that's for sale. If so I have missed it.
