British Army Proficiency Badges, 1st ed v's 2nd ed
I wondered what are the differences between the 2 editions as I would like to add one to my library at some stage?
Thanks for any insights

2nd has updates, dealing with badges in use after the date of publication of the 1st but the images are of poor quality.
The 1st is a much better quality product, the images are far better than in the 2nd. Ask grumpy what he thinks about 1st v 2nd (light blue touchpaper and retire.......) |

The 2nd edition was basically a scan of the 1st, the quality suffering as a result.

Unless you want the additional information which includes badges introduced from the early 1980's - 2005.

pre 1980's is fine for me, not that interested at this time in the newer period items, too be honest pre great war is my current interest but WWI & WWII are always of interest to me

I find it convenient to file my badges as per the book - a scan or photocopy of the relevant page with the actual items I have, filed in the order they're shown in the book, index pages etc copied and with the badges.

Leigh is totally correct.
Having given up badge collecting some time ago, I collect better images of the badges IN WEAR, and, guess what, file them as per the original book. I ripped a second edition up and use its pages as page One of each badge section [ photocopy of the reverse needed of course]. |
