Default 7th armoured division patch datation

Hello there,

I found this “desert rats” (one of my emblematic british unit since I was very young ... probably a colateral effect of me having watched the movie of same name ) divisional patch with a little lot of ww2 british patches, at an Arms Fair, when I lived in UK. Now I know that this insignia has kept being worn far after ww2. When from would you date it?

Thanks & Best Regards,

JD

From my limited knowledge, I believe that is a very late war to early post war example.

Hi Lemataf,
This "Kangaroo" 3rd pattern is an original british made cloth badge. Worn from early 1944 when the division came back from Italy.
All the best

Hello,
I had one of these from a chap who was in the 7th Armoured Division in 44/45, it was the same as your badge.
