Default Two for opinions. Lovat's & KC AA Parachute Regt

Got these additions recently.

I'd love your opinions on these two. The Lovat's is collar badge size and seems to be a crisp stamp and I know the PR badge has been discussed before not exactly sure if it's a fantasy item or not. I bought it with a couple of KC Para buttons which is what I was actually after.

Any help welcomed.

Thanks in advance, Bill

Lovats is a repro and the KC Paras in AA is a fantasy item, it never existed.

Thanks Luke,

what marks the Lovats as a repro?

Bill

It’s a cast copy of a genuine badge. Note the very poor reverse detail, thickness of the badge and also the blobs on the lettering particularly both S’s and the U. Finally this type was an earlier badge and would not have had modern loops like your example.

It’s a very good repro and when I saw it on eBay I had to do a double take.

Hopefully you can return it for a refund.

Luke,

thanks for the reply, I did wonder at the detail on the back being a bit a bit poorer and to be honest I never noticed the marks on the lettering.

I might keep this as a space filler until I get a proper example.

Thanks again, Bill

Is the thick eyebrow right? I had thought that was a bad sign and the eyebrow should be thinner?

Thanks,

Terry
