Uganda Police badge puzzle
I’ve recently received these KC Uganda Police cap badges from other Forum members but I am puzzled by the difference in size.
The larger is in WM and (from memory) is about the same size as a post-colonial badge I had many years ago: this one is 34 x 48mm. The two smaller ones - had they lugs - I would put down as collars, but if collars, why sliders? Or were they officers badges? They measure 25 x 34mm. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks Graham

Graham,
I understand that the smaller slidered badges were worn on a beret. The collar badges are a facing pair which are the same size as the beret badge. Dave. |

Cool, thanks Dave - I didn't know any police forces (colonial or otherwise) wore berets at that time.
Learned something new, and another country ticked off - only another 170-ish to go. Graham

Thanks 1314, I'll have to look out for these books when I'm a bit more flush.
