Korean cap badges and tank insignia
Hi, recently amalgamated my Korean badges so of course have some questions. Firstly is the right hand cap badge Marines? Secondly does anyone have information on the tank badges? to some extent they are tentative identifications as Korean. Thirdly what is the badge in third photo? It came with some Korean badges but I can't find any reference to it, thanks in advance, best wishes Mike

Hi, just found out that the third badge is a Japanese cap badge. So nearly Korean! best wishes Mike

Could the button in the first image be Japanese?

Hi Bns, I think you may be right. It appears to be the epaulette button, thanks and best wishes Mike

Hi,
No badges in the photos are related to the ROK marines. marines have a star and anchor on their insignia. badges can be both metal or embroidered. here is a reference: https://i.imgur.com/2yupjeN.jpg the triangular tank badges you have on the first pic are related to the ROK army's tank training command. The badge on the top right of the first pic is that of the National Defense Academy of Japan For the rest, I will find some Korean contacts for further confirmation Last edited by Exiazero; 02-08-19 at 03:54 AM. |

Hi Exiazero, thank you very much for the information, looking forward to possible identifications. Getting information on Far East nations is not easy here in England, probably a language problem, thank again, best wishes Mike

Update:
Just confirmed with my contacts the triangular tank patches you have on the first pic is of the armoured division academy. the small badge between those two tank badges is actually placed upside down. Its a metal badge of the armoured division Last edited by Exiazero; 03-08-19 at 01:54 AM. |
