A.C.F. Shoulder Titles.
I've had these A.C.F. titles for a while, don't know much about them. Can anyone date them, or know which cadet detachments wore them ? Top to bottom. white on green, black on green and a smaller white on green.

These A.C.F. type embroidered titles were made in a wide variety of colour combinations generally to match the pattern of the Regiment or Corps to which counties, units or detachments were affiliated.
Black on Rifle Green was for Rifle affiliated units and white on green for Nottinghamshire units. They were worn on 1949 pattern Battle Dress from the 1950s to early 1970s and later on olive green brassards when BD was withdrawn. Today on MTP PCS CU only slides with CADET in red or ACF in White are supposed to be worn on the chest tab. More examples in my ACF CCF album http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...hp?albumid=490 Tim

Thanks Tim. Didn't know the white on green titles were worn by the Nottinghamshire cadets. Think I remember seeing them also worn by the Royal Irish Rangers ACF in the 70's. Any significance in the sizes ? The black on green looks to be quite a bit older than the small white on green title.

Indeed depends on the shade of green, dark = R IRISH and lighter = Nottinghamshire.
As they were sometimes worn below the regimental title the colour should match and the size may vary. They do not survive washing machines well! http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...hp?albumid=490 Tim
