Default 7 RHA?

Could anyone confirm that these (or one of the variants) was worn on the forearm by 7 RHA when it was briefly out of the parachute role and was in BAOR as, I think, a Med Regt RHA. Thanks. Mike

Hi Mike, the small Pegasus facing left was indeed given to 7 RHA to wear on the No.2's as an honour on its leaving the Airborne Forces in 1977. It remains in wear today even though the Regiment is back in the Airborne Roll. It's not however worn on the forearm. Not the best pic but you can see it in situ.

Don't know what the Right facing one was for but not in 7th.

Many thanks.
Perhaps the right facing example was for wear under the collar? Although this example is the standard 5 AB Bde version. Mike

Well not really mate, as lots of us did sew a peggy under the collar because we were disgruntled at having the lucky peggy taken away as our emblem. We took them off our smock and sewed the budgie on, at the same time sewing the old pegasus onto the collar.

See post regarding 201 Herts and Beds Yeo Para Bty RA (V) below.

However since the fifties the Pegasus had only been worn on the left sleeve. Thus a right facing pegasus would not have been made, let alone worn in the modern British Airborne. However the Belgians and Canadians also wore the Pegasus, so it might be from one of those.
What about the right facing pegasus worn on BD and No2 Dress by 201 Herts and Beds Yeo Para Bty RA (V) - recently disbanded - flash just about visible on this video clip at 1.00 to 1.10

I again stand corrected up to a point, I'd forgotten about 201 Herts and Beds Yeo Para Bty RA (V) wearing it. However, every member I've seen wore a much larger one, nearer 6.5 cm, than the 2.5 cm one shown (which is the correct size for the one worn by 7 RHA /7PARA RHA). Their most recent one was a green merrowed edged one. But of course that hasn't always been the case. Of course our resident Artillery expert 54Bty posted this:
