Default Khaki embroidered rank star

Is this rank star a WW1 period piece? If not, can anyone give a time-frame, please?

HIi GTB,

It certainly looks to be of the WW1 period. They are normally slightly padded and woven in heavier guage thread than the WW2 versions. I suspect that there was no definitive cut off for this style so could be worn as late as WW2.

regards

Mark
