Unknown star badge-perhaps MN or other Civilian Organisation.
Good evening all,
I have tried this badge in the Military Section with no results. Any chance that it could be a Civilian Service/organisation badge, perhaps Merchant Navy? Please check it out and let me know. The green background has nothing to do with the badge. Badge measures about 1.5 inches in diameter. Someone out there must know.Thank you. Martin. Last edited by ORISKANY; 09-10-13 at 09:38 PM. could this be a Scout or Guides service star economy period?
just a thought the scouts ones were useully white metal stars on a roundel made of cloth & sometimes leather. I have seen more modern Guide's one made of cloth. however not useuly that big. Stephen Last edited by yorkstone; 27-10-13 at 11:51 PM. Reason: add informtion |

I'm 99% sure its not Scout related, it does look a bit more Girl Guide like. I've looked at this thread a few times but had no helpful answer to give.

Thank you for the definitive answer. It has bugged me for some time. I want to pass it on so it is important to get it right. Thanks again Sgt Joe and all others who gave their responses.

Taking the opportunity to post my star specimen together with another unidentified silver bullion star for size comparison, however 5-pointed and with only a cloth outline. I would very much appreciate any assistance in positively identifying this latter star.
