Very interesting to see Alan, thank you for posting the link. It’s often overlooked that as well as older men past the age for military service the VTC trained significant numbers of boys and so acted as incubation for the Army proper, especially after the introduction of conscription under the military service act of 1916.

The splitting of the chin straps so they top half sits over the cap badge is an interesting 'fashion'. It's shame the badge is not clearer.
