Default Cambridgeshire Additions.

Several new additions to the Cambs collection arrived today, the OSD pair were bought as cap badges, but, I have been wondering why I haven't come across any of the scrolled collar badges seen in numerous photos of Cambs officers early in WW1. I think that I've been looking for loops and those collar badges might well have had blades!

I think that the bottom badge of this pair might be a scrolled OSD collar, just the same as another "cap badge" I acquired recently, shown in the next pics. Collar badges don't always have loops, as you can see from the unscrolled collar badge shown next.

I do now also have another Firmin London, badge with braze slots, I was beginning to think that I wasn't ever going to see one of those. I have also had a winning bid on my first badge with braze slots (no maker) with any kind of luck, I should end up with a pair of those, as well.

Is there any chance that you could do an album of your Cambridgeshire collection showing front and rear pictures of each badge? It would be a great reference.

Phil

Hi Phil, Yes, I have several pieces still to find, when I've got them, I'll see what I can do. Maybe, more people are interested in the Cambs than I would have thought.
