Default Can anyone identify this badge?

Photo dated Feb 1916.
Ink is smudged, reads Smith H G

Possibly Hut 6 or C. T H lines? Or Lincs?

Hello Caroline, welcome, as Alan has said Machine Gun Corps, a little info on this regiment https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine_Gun_Corps

There are a few H G Smiths ( MGR) on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, was he a relative of yours ?
