Pegasus badge
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and I'm not an expert on British Military Badges. Therefore I appriciate your opinion about the Pegasus badge (see picture). Is it genuine WWII or reproduction? Thanks! Horloge |

Hello horloge, and welcome to the Forum. If you use the "search" button and write "pegasus" you will find some of the posts by our colleague Arnhemjim and his views on how to differentiate between good and bad patch.

Thanks for the info, that's a very good article from Arnhemjim.... I've found a site about Belgian SAS insignia with the Pegasus shoulder patch.

So what is the final verdict on this badge? I think the front looks good but the backing is unusual but perhaps not original to the badge.

Last week I visited the Baugnez 44 Historical center near Bastogne (Belgium), and there I spotted an almost similar badge on the BD of a Mr. Jan de Vries who was a Canadian Paratrooper (see picture). There was a writing with this BD which said: "Yes, 55 years ago, In January 1945, Canadian Paratroopers, integrated into the 3rd Parachute Brigade of the 6th British Airborne Division, took part in the Battle of the Ardennes."
