Default RTR Sterling and Sterling Sweetheart

A nice pair to the RTR. These came together so I am assuming that the broached RTR by Gaunt should also be considered a sweetheart. As you can see the cap badge was once a 3 lug piece. Attractive pair IMO

Thanks Steve, I had originally typed RTR but went back in and changed to RTC. I would liked to have found this badge with the 3 lugs in place but still a good looking piece.

I would say that you have made a perfectly reasonable assumption, given the particular type of pin, complete with safety catch, on the reverse of the beret badge.

Hi Jack, I've got two or three where the blades or lugs have been replaced by pins, and assumed they were worn like that. If you were a tank commander a pin is probably less painful than lugs banging into your head. Some also just have the top lug removed, why I know not, but thought I would throw that into the mix as well, best wishes Mike

Hello Mike, to your point of being a bit easier and more comfortable for wear is well made. The pin on the beret badge has a drop in catch which might indicate and earlier usage. The sweetheart piece is more WW2 and beyond based on the underneath type catch in my opinion.
Best and happy holidays
Jack
