Another fake RPAS Wing
Hi All
Just a heads up about another fake RPAS wing being offered on ebay. At least the crown is bit better on this one! The feather pattern is incorrect and the wreath too wide. Beware!! Dave |

It's a two edged sword. Damned if you inform people about the fakes and damned if you don't.

Thanks Leigh, support appreciated. Pics of the real one are readily available on the internet so I didn't show the faker anything he couldn't have got easily. I really don't think there's any difference to the Army bods on here who point out the flaws on the many badges they show pics of. My purpose was to point out the fake so people don't get taken for a ride. In fact the genuine item (NSN 8455-99-839-4843) badge is now available on the Wyedean website at the wholesome price of £6.17.

Is it common practice of any particular "faker" to use this forum for that purpose?

I don't pretend to know anything about British militaria but my experience in collecting Rhodesian militaria was that I only ever saw one badge that was close to the original and I never saw another one like it. If one knew what an original looked like then the fakes, copies, reproductions or whatever term one wanted to use, were quite easy to spot.

The RAF RPAS(P) badge is no longer issued and all RAF Pilots now receive the same Flying Badge as of 1 Apr 19.
