Which regiment or significance of uniform

Hello.. trying to narrow down id of one of my great uncles.. all look similar
but id of regiment or significance of his uniform might narrow options down a bit.
The gent in question is on the left. What does the braid on left shoulder indicate and so on.
This was taken in Liverpool at the start of the war I presume, before they saw active service.

The soldier on the bottom left appears to be wearing the RFA white lanyard. The fellow on seated to the right is wearing the Observers wing for the RFC.

The lanyard is not significant at that time.

The one at the back was in France or similar before Dec 15 as he has the 1914/15 star. The photo should date from after Nov 1917 and more likely 1918-1919.

Front left has crossed trumpets on his right upper arm I think?
The tunics have tailored collars.

what would be the significance of the crossed trumpets and lanyard?
I know the brother at the back received 3 medals from the 1st world war
and the RFC brother was involved with Pulham Pigs!
