Default Mystery "UBIQUE" badge

Hi All,
I'd be grateful for identification of this badge. The white metal part is 27mm diameter and the blue rosette is 50mm diameter approx.
Thanks, Tinto

Default 8 Sqn Royal Engineers?

Hi All,
I posted a similar query on the Great War Forum and the suggestion was made that this badge is associated with the 8th Squadron of the Royal Engineers. However, the Fighting Phoenix patch of this unit does not resemble the bird/phoenix on the badge.
Can anyone confirm this suggestion?
Thanks, Tinto

I think that it is a family crest used for a livery button. The black material would sugest that in this case it was used as a mourning item. Is it brooched i.e. what is holding the metal part to the material? Is it hall marked?

Could it be a Royal Artillery "sweetheart" brooch? I am sure that I have seen this eagle(?) on a RA Regiment/Battery sign. Of course I could be wrong.....

That's a possibility. The material is blue however, not black, the badge is brooched and there is no hallmark.

Cheers,
Tinto

Is it a badge, or a brooched button?

Hi Mike,
It's not a button. Here is a scan of the reverse side.
Cheers, Tinto
