Default Mystery DS or SD title badge

Hi All,
Can anyone identify this badge please. I had thought it was for a school but the lugs indicate that it may be military.
Thanks, Tinto

Default Driscoll's Scouts

Hi Dave,
Thankyou for solving this mystery. Looking on the internet, I have come across pictures of another Driscoll's Scouts badge, the one that has the full name. Was one worn before the other, or were they worn at the same time? I gather there were not that many men in this unit.
Cheers, Tinto

Hi, maybe one was worn as the shoulder title and one on the Slouch Hat. I know that Kitcheners Fighting Scouts had a monogram type badge KFS worn on the hat. There exists the lateral title KFS which may have been the shoulder title. Perhaps someone here knows different.

Hi Tinto,

The unit highest total number of men was 422 aroung 1901. War raised unit of volunteers fighting on the British side. There were possibily 3 types of badges worn. The one you have, one with the name Driscoll over a large 'S' in brass and a Maid of Erin harp badge which may of been worn as a slouch hat badge at one time.

Nice to get anything to these.

Regards,

Dave

Thanks for your comments, Jack and Dave.
This DS badge was languishing in my Miscellaneous/Unknowns section. It's good that it has been finally recognised. If only it could talk!
Cheers, Tinto
