Good find. It's shame that K&K did not include it in the book however I would still like to find a picture in use to confirm Bosleys ID as an OTC hat badge. Perhaps a letter or email to the school CCF would be worthwhile with a picture of your badge? They might be able to give you the date of the introdution of the round Homer's head badge and if this was some years after 1908 then that would probably clinch it.

hi all
i contacted the Edinburgh Academy to request assistance in identifying this badge and they came back to me with this photo. certainly the glengarry isn't the correct badge but what about the sporran badge?? William Morrison Reid (EA 1908-13) wearing a cap and a sporran badge which we think might match. looking forward to your thoughts bc |

Yes I think you can be 100% sure that it is a sporran badge. Just shows how incorrect Bosely's badge expert is.
This is his bonnet badge. |

There are some enthusistic OTC collectors on ebay. You could list it on there are as an OTC badge with the Rawlins catagory number. You could state (or not) that it's believed to be sporran but attributed by Bosleys as a hat badge and let them make up their own minds. I have moved the thread to the OTC section for future reference. Last edited by Alan O; 11-11-15 at 01:35 PM. |

Those blue boards look like the ones that were sold as collection of the late Phil Harris. Dix,Noonan and Webb sold some of it.
