Masonic / Military
Just bought this little fob which seems to be masonic, and now I'm wondering if some of these stationary crests may also be?

What part of it makes you think it is masonic, Rob?

Got it the AF & AM scroll, the device without the scroll is described in Military Insignia of Cornwall by Ivall and Thomas as being used on mess china, christmas cards, and on an album of photographs. It was used some years after 1881 as the crest of the 2nd Bn. DCLI. Tim

Does the plume/flower/lollypop thing in the middle appear on all those?

Yes, "it represents a ball tuft, as worn on various shakos (the original 'Red Feathers' is implied)"

One of my crests doesn't have it, I wonder if that makes it earlier?

Many regiments had their own masonic lodges, there have been a number of articles about them over the years in the MHS Bulletins.

Some Lodges seem to have been formed even relatively recently::

That's interesting Peter, my fob/badge came from America and may even be quite modern.
