Default Cloth badge for positive I.D.

I have this badge down as London District, but it differs from my other London District badges.
Can anyone confirm what it is?

Thanks for looking
Rob

Question Cloth badge for positive I.D.

Well, after 85 views I'm beginning to think this badge is a scarce one!

Hopefully someone will know what it is.

Thanks for looking

Rob

Doesn't look like any London District badges I can find , they all have the "mural crown".
Quote:
A mural crown is a crown or headpiece representing city walls, towers, or fortresses.
Could it have some connection to the "Home Counties Brigade" ?

Quote:
The Home Counties Brigade was an administrative formation of the British Army from 1948 to 1968. The Brigade administered the regular infantry regiments of the Home Counties of south east England.

From 1958 all regiments in the Brigade adopted a common cap badge and brigade buttons, depicting an upright sword within a Saxon crown.

Their official formation patch was "A yellow portcullis on a red St. George's cross on a white horizontal heptagon" but could your badge be an early/unofficial one based on their cap badge/buttons ?

Thanks Mike for the reply I have had this badge for years and have always put it down as London District, it could be Home Counties Brigade now you mention it.
