I spend some of my leisure surfing YouTube all sorts of subjects and decided to see what I could find about British marching bands and these are a couple that i watched and thoroughly enjoyed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rIYsy8jbz4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jK2lpKjxQE At the same time, as a Yank, I do have a few of questions. When a British soldier marches is there a specified height that his arms should reach in the swing? Why are some of the pipers in the Royal Regiment of Scots wearing green coats and Royal Stuart kilts? Love the pony mascot as he looks like such a sweetie and just marches along with his regiment. My I ask why the regiment has a pony as their mascot. I believe it's the Royal Fusiliers have a goat as their mascot. Just wanted to share this and hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Terry |

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers used to have a Black Buck,a small deer as its mascot. From the Royal Warwicks.
This has now changed to an uncommon breed of dog. The Parachute Regiment used to have a pony mascot .Dont know if they still do. The Royal Welsh have a goat mascot, both the Royal Regiment and Fusiliers had goat mascots prior to amalgamation. |

The arm should swing shoulder high and be straight .
RRS pipers still wear the kilts etc of the forebearer regiments so you should,if you know your tartans be able to identify which Btn of the RRS they are. |

Gentlemen all, Thank you very much for the information, and i absolutely love to video of all the mascots together.
I do Cowboy Action Shooting and we had a sweet mascot named Black Diamond Nicki (her cowgirl name, her real name was just Nicki). She was a trained care dog who had to be retired due to a serious condition and was not expect to live much longer. Her new parents sought out a specialist and she lived a long and happy life. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge earlier this year. Her parents have adopted a new baby and she is in training now. ![]() ![]() Last year she was presented with a special trophy at the Tennessee State Match. Her parents, Cardboard Cowboy and Foxy Filly, are truly the most wonderful and kind people - it is a genuine pleasure to know them. You may notice that mom and puppy dress alike! Sorry for altering the thread, but this subject brought Nicki to mind, so thought I would share it. Terry |

Hi Marc, As requested. My star is the dress version for the Deputy Bunny Posse that I started several years ago. There are just under 50 members now - cowboys, cowgirls and cow critters (bunnies and puppies). I will also share my regular star.
In Cowboy Shooting you are known by your cowboy alias. Mine is HT "Hare Trigger" Terry (a name given to me, and my brand is the HT, as that is the name I go by). ![]() ![]() Some of the Posse members, taken at our range. Cowboy Bunny. He took over heading up the posse after Deputy Bunny crossed the Rainbow Bridge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb3stz77NQs An old video of what it's all about. I laugh at all of my mistakes now!!! Terry...err, I mean HT Last edited by Home Guard; 29-11-22 at 08:26 PM. |
