Default Any Ideas - Royal Scots Design, Blank Scroll

Can anyone shed any light on this Royal Scots design with a blank scroll?

It is the same size as a normal RS badge.

Thanks

Chris

Is it missing its GM overlay?

Tony,

I must admit, I didn't think of that. However, the back of the scroll on my other badge has the Royal Scots impressed on it.

Very odd Chris,
It could be a Territorial badge with a stamping fault, it doesn’t look erased because the reverse is also blank with no shadow of the title

It would appear then when the so called overlay was added the reverse would miraculously show the Royal Scots, why do other regular ORs show a gilding /brass Saltire /St Andrew to the reverse ????

Not all makers made them that way. If there was an overlay then there was no need for the piece behind to be stamped with the name.

You need to show me these badges (original please) showing the white metal reverse after overlay has been added and hopefully tell me what makers done this to convince me

Keith
I’m pretty sure you have said in the past you do not have a fake badge in your collection,
Are you promoting this badge in the link as original

I don't think I’ve ever said that, happy to be proven wrong if you can find where I did though. Who said the badge in the original post is genuine, the fact the overlay has fallen off makes it a strong candidate fir a fake in my opinion.
