Default Royal Fusiliers odd crown???

Any thoughts on this one?
I think it's an Edwardian badge brooched, the crown doesn't look the normal King's Crown, thought it maybe an imperial crown?

Tony,

I'd say what you have there is a Woodward badge. The crowns seen on Woodward RF badges are extremely poorly fashioned:

Cannot see any vestiges of a slider on your badge, Tony. If there was a slider originally, perhaps signs of it are more evident in the flesh?

JT, I think it's an early lugged E/W badge, these having been removed and covered by the pin fixings.
Tony.
