Cheers Guys

It comes with a bunch of other stuff, I probably only paid about £5 for it, all in all.

Why would someone plate it?

Hi Mate.
This in my opinion is a copy.cWW2 Badges are die struck and have a different backing(the badge you have also looks die struck but there is something that just does not look correct about it).It is Not a post war Pre 1953 issue badge as these are all marked AMOR.and it looks nothing like a pre WW2 Gilt metal badge..
Also the metal or colour of the metal is incorrect. The lugs also look post war type.
Does the badge fell soft or easy to bend.this is a good guide on copy badges. Not made to the same spec's as the real ones.I have a large collection of Rising suns and Its just my opinion that is a copy made for reinactors, medal mounters ,a gap filler as such etc.
I hope this helps.
Kaiser
