Default Opinions sought: Sudan Defence Force cap badge

Good afternoon

I've just got this Sudan Defence Force cap badge in an auction lot and would be grateful if anyone can give it the thumbs up or down. It is in silver-coloured metal (possibly with a percentage of silver in it), and measures 34.3mm wide x 41mm high.

Thanks for looking

Graham

I have one in whitemetal that is the same size as yours, it has the more commonly found screw post fitting. I don't think I have ever seen one with lugs, but yours looks fine. I have another one in silver (and hallmarked) but it is only 25 mm in height.

It looks like it might have had a screw post fixing at some time, with the lugs added later.

Luc and Jack8

Thank you both for your input, much appreciated. I also have a small size unmarked silver officer's badge with a brooch pin N-S. If they are both officer's badges I still need an other ranks in brass.

Thanks again

Graham

This one appears to be made of brass:
