Looking the reflective parts of their badges and the centre one which looks to me like two O's I'd say that this could be the badge or at least stands a good chance just my opinion though.

I think you're right and the photographer and the school both being in Bath would fit as well.

Magpie, Simon and Hoot.

Many thanks for that suggestion and the tie in with the Bath Location. Am away from home and this photograph at the moment so once back will have another look under a glass for comparison and update you all.

Best regards Simon.

Finally back home and able to compare the badge suggested by Magpie with the photograph and have to say it seems to compare extremely well and tied in with the location and Bath Studio seems to fit.

The only question remaining as mentioned earlier in this thread regards the wearing of white bands on caps by Junior OTC Members?

Regards Simon.

Simon

No they did not.

However I have seen photos of the University College School London wearing white bands around their cap on exercise but this was also used to identify 'enemy' forces.

Alan,

Thank you for that however looking again at the photograph they certainly do not look as though they are about to embark on an exercise, so the white bands remain a mystery.

Simon,
It’s never wise to assume that regulations were always followed, for a variety of reasons. Personally I think that you have ID the correct college. The badge is a dead ringer for the photo. I’d love to know the colour of the boys shorts, they do not look khaki drab to me.

This has several photos of the OTC but it's all long trousers and without hat bands.

Alan,

Many thanks for the link, most interesting and in my mind confirms the identification of the photograph. The short trousers and cap band remains a mystery!

Regards Simon.
