Default Canadian Railway Troops

I have been assisting the local museum prepare a display to commemorate the area's contribution to the First World War. Their artifact collection relevant for the time period is not extensive and another small local museum offered some uniforms. The uniforms turned out to be a nice surprise. Here is the first, a service dress tunic to a Captain in the Canadian Railway Troops. A usual type of service dres, with 4 Canadian Railway Troops collars, and best of all, the CRT formation sign on the back of the tunic. It is made of a velour type material. Seldom seen.
The research we have been doing indicates a large number of 159th Bn personnel were transferred to the 4 CRT.
