52nd Lowland Division Shoulder Badge
Was the 52nd Lowland Division shoulder badge ever worn as just the top part (with St. Andrews Cross) without the "MOUNTAIN" bottom part? Asking because I saw one being sold separately, wondering if some were worn without the "Mountain"...

There was a postwar version without the 'Mountain' tab -- worn by 52nd (Lowland) Div (TA) and also 30th (Lowland) Armd Bde from 1947, according to Cole, Badges on Battledress (1953 edn).

52nd Lowland
There's lots of evidence that the shield was worn without the Mountain bar which appeared some time in 1943. I have seen contemporary notes from 1941 and 1942 of the sign worn without the bar.

If memory serves correctly, 155 Bde also wore the saltire sans MOUNTAIN title...
