I was coming to that but was not going to put all my cards on the table too early.

He officially left the R.A.F. on the 1st September 1921 having seen brief service in the Middle East (Egypt).

He went up to Brazenose College Oxford in 1921 and seems to have rowed for the college. He also seems to have attempted to give some gravitas to his personality by sporting a monocle.

He rejoined the R.A.F. in 1925 having been declared fit for flying duties as a pilot.

His later records are not in the public domain but he seems to have served with 151 Squadron at some time in his career.

S1019 was a Fairey IIID.

Nice little collection with a nice time line thread of the man's service and education. Do you have more?

I have a few more photographs but no badges or insignia. I bought a bag full of old photographs and only the page from the passport had a name to work with. Luckily his Great War service record helped put it the narrative together.

As the house has just been cleared, I would imagine that someone else may have had the medals and any other bits, assuming that they were in the house.

What a shame. Do you use the Ancestry site? I've found when researching medals, named postcards that if you look under other people researching your chap, you sometimes find extra Info or photo's of the subject or their family. Some good points about our hobbies are that they make you in into a sort of social/military historian and detective.
