ARMY JUNIOR SCHOOL OF MUSIC
Looking for information and dates.
1. When was the AJSM formed and when was it disbanded? 2. Where they based in Kneller Hall? Any information would be appreciated. Ian |

Tim,
Thanks for your reply and the Facebook link. I notice that there are a variety of cap badges worn in the photos. When did the AJSM cap badge come into use? Regards Ian |

The AJSM cap badge is listed in COSA in 1987 and 1993. NSN 132-0922
I think the AJSM disappeared with demise of junior soldier units in the early 1990s so the badge was in use for about six years? Tim

Thank you again Tim. It seems to be a difficult badge to get hold of. I have been trying for a while now. Grateful for the information.

Ian, a relatively scarce cap badge on the quiet. I suspect only made in anodised alluminium. Have only found these made by LB&B, flat backed and typical of late AA badges. There are collars too.
They do turn up though. Regards all Bess |

Further research indicates that the the AJSM only existed from about 1987 to 1992 when junior entry ended. There were ‘schools’ at Bovington and Pirbright.
