Default 1/AH titles

I have seen gilt 1/AH titles worn by ORs before Federation, one of three NSW Light Horse regiments. NSWL and NSWMR were the others, all went to the Boer War.
I have seen a blackened hat badge and cap badge of the 1/AH, obviously oxidised for wartime, but I doubt if titles or collar badges were ever worn in S Africa.
Have also seen a brass lead-filled AH title without the 1, not good quality but undoubtedly genuine because quite a few other NSW regiments wore lead filled badges, probably of local make.

Cheers, Kingsley -- more good info. I must have a closer look at sources to find examples of the title being worn.
