Default SAAF Button

I have some SAAF collar badges, where the eagles have their head in a low swept position. Owen has them listed as numbers 1511-1514, and has them as an unknown period between 1950's- 1960's. I thought that those collar badges were the sum total to that specific type of style eagle's use in the SAAF, until I recently bought some buttons. The buttons also have the eagle's head in a low swept position. I have also seen a photo where that style button has also featured on a gorget.

Any more info/ pics would be helpful.
