I know the thread, thanks. just looking for opinions. my opinion is its good, Japanese made fully embroidered patch with the staining on the back from the makers label. the patch that john showed you I believe is an in country (Vietnam) made genuine. note the green cloth used and not fully embroidered. I think I have one of each. will have to dig them out and look. btw, the 2 patches I have in my collection came directly from an AATTV vet also. cheers BC

It's easy to tell. It's a dinkum one made by Kasamaki and Co.Ltd., Tokyo.
There's some good photos under the heraldry section of the AWM.
