13th Infantry Division's Orbat
The recent sale by Normandie 18 of a slip-on with the sign of 13th Infantry Division and an unknown regimental flash prompts me to wonder if anyone has any information on the 13th Division's post-WW2 Orbat?
The National Archives catalogue does not seem to have any reference to them and the IWM's record of the divisional sign appears equally mystified. Suggestions please. Jon |

Thought I'd attempt to revive this thread by asking if anyone has examples of the 13th Division Horseshoe with regimental flashes attached which usually appear on KD slip-ons like that for the Kensington Regt shown.
This may help to identify the units that served with this shortlived postwar division. Jon |

Back in 2014 Mike Jackson provided the following information in response to a similar request. I can't recall if it was posted to the Forum or not, so I'm reprinting it here:

Formed Oct 45 and Disbanded 31 Oct 46: 179 Inf Bde (1/4 Essex, 1/6 East Surrey) 180 Inf Bde (1 R Sussex, 6 BW) 181 Inf Bde (2 Cameronians, 2/4 Hampshire) 1,11 and 31 Fd Regts RA 57 LAA Regt (ex 2/5 KOYLI) 149 ATk Regt (Lancs Yeo) The battalions were all variously formerly subordinate to 4 Inf Div, 6 Armd Div, 12 Inf Bde (4 Inf Div), 13 Inf Bde (5 Inf Div), 128 Inf Bde (46 Inf Div) and in the case of 1/4 Essex - 5 Indian Bde. |
