Default Help please with identification

Could anyone please tell me what these POW feathers are and do they go with the I.Y. titles and are they cap or shoulder titles? Also the large POW badge has very strange fixings which I have not seen before and the small one has unusual feather markings Any info most welcome. Denis

Hi Simon, that is very interesting. I did not know that there were 3 different sizes for the I.Y. rosette badges as I had only seen the small size before on the rosettes with blades for the IY and lugs for the feathers. Does that mean that these two larger sizes are quite uncommon and would they have had larger rosettes? Interesting also the different design of the feathers and strange blades for the largest one. Regards Denis

Its probable that someone has made it up out of two bits because its not the right size for sure.

They are knocking out fake rosettes so maybe its just another part of all that nonsense.

They are both not "regulation" issue, but that does not mean they weren't period, I have seen some similar period cap badges with the 4 flat prongs. I have seen a few of these IY with lugs, no idea if they are period genuine or not.

I have a genuine set mounted on a copy rosette, these have the standard fittings
