I can't ID it, but it looks to be Indian Army.

Hello CB, I wondered Indian army. I thought it intriguing which is why I got it. It was described as possibly Egyptian Labour Corps but I'm doubtful about that.

I don't know what the Egyptian Labor Corps badge was, but the star is usually connected with India. He has bronze buttons, which would just might be indicative of some Corps or service type unit.

It does look like the 18th Infantry ( I have one ), but there is clearly a circular overlay on the star, which is not the 18th. Additionally, the buttons do not appear to be that of the 18th, which had a rim and were never worn in bronze to my knowledge.

After looking at it close up on my phone screen, with different filters and looking at it from different angles, it's a star, I can make out the lines making the point, the circle is the flash of the camera making that effect.
The buttons, by the size of them, I believe are the leather "football" types., Often look bronze in photos.
I'll happily stand corrected.
Cheers
Chris
