Terrible
If it is a copy, it is very good. |

I buy regularly from the auction house in question and have never seen them hold a specialist militaria sale. Neither was I aware that they hold themselves out to be experts on militaria.

I have bought from that auction house (medals) and did not have a problem with either the medals or their service.
The gent selling the medal should really seek some formal resolution. Simply "giving up" because of the auctioneers failure to respond is not appropriate. He needs to look at the conditions of sale and then do something positive i.e. contact Trading Standards in Carmarthen. If he doesn't do that then I'd suggest that he's not that bothered. Auction houses regularly overstate their expertise, its part of the sales pitch I suppose, no one should really be surprised if yet another does so. Dave. |

Maybe some research before bidding could have prevented this from happening?

The hammer price alone should have rung alarm bells.
You cant buy an MC for less than £500 especially on on on line worldwide auction. Buyer beware. regards

Poor chap. Doubtless it’s one of Henry Lyttel’s (aka Badgeman) examples.
For benefit of members unfamiliar with the name or case: https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/new...elling-4208225 Wonder just how many people have one of these in their collections without realising. |
