Quick Gaunt question
Could anyone tell me, is the Gaunt London 1.5mm x 23.75mm makers mark a 70's name like the B/ham version or is it okay on pre a/a badges i am thinking late 40's,50's kind of . please. i do get confused with types of sliders and maker marks.

A few years ago I went to B'ham libraries and museum to try and sort it out. I'll try and find my notes. I do know that the B'ham mark was 1963. But the 70s etc is a tad too modern for me.
There are Gaunt archives in the NAM (and other companies that Gaunt bought up). |

Hi. This was one i was looking at but as i mentioned not sure when this mark was used, i think i read the London Ltd is a later copy on metal badges.

That is a 1950's mark. It has been reproduced or genuine sliders added to fakes.

Thank you Alan. did not know that [ see still learning ]. Do you think the badge in the picture is one of the cases or a genuine badge.

The Worcs Hussars other ranks were wearing the RA cap badge in WW2. The officers wore the old Yeomanry but the ORs did not.
They went to the RAC in 1950-58 but I don't know what cap badge they wore. |

I dont know if this sounds right or not but KC badges would be ok with this mark but QC would be running into a/a territory then by the time they were produced after 53.

The regt merged in 1956 and the new badge was a/a. There was not an a/a version of this badge to my knowledge.
