Is it definitely an American badge and a DUI rather than a form of British Old Comrades lapel badge or a sweetheart badge?

The same design was used as the formation sign of the British 66th (2nd East Lancashire) Division during WWI.

The design is almost identical but the 66th Div lapel badge is a darker blue. I have one of these lapel badges myself.
