Default Mystery Badges (well some are?) & Buttons

Hi just a little group of badges, to get an idea of what they may be, have grouped all together and some button's, which I know member's collect the maker's names so if anyone is seeking that maker there are approximately 4 - 5 each of the large and 4 little General Service buttons, one marked Firmin. Just send me a P.M.

I think that this is a Maltese Cross (will refer to it as such), appears to be unhallmarked Silver, loops Silver and the blackness of it, will clean up later at some point, hopefully someone may tell me what it is?

The Brass Rose with Hexagonal Lugs, originally thought Belt buckle but probably for Shoulder title and Hex lugs date it WW1 ish? Welcome your opinions on this please?

W/m Three Owls on Shield badge, unfortunately broken Crown, suspect this to be a Police badge? Leeds comes to mind? Don't know why though? Welcome your thoughts on this please?

The Button's are what they are, apart from one which have photographed separately looks to be Livery? All the best billy

Because I think that's what Oldham police had atop the shield......
Just consulted Mr Google, looks like the design was used on helmet plate, collar/shoulder straps and belt locket.
No doubt someone who knows far more than me about police insignia will comment.

Dunno, can't find the badge on the 1st link, 2nd link shows same design but different badges, need the experts to say whether police or corporation or both.
Is this it? On Bonham's site as police.

On Sally Bosley's site it is :

Code: 59118

A lot of corporation/police used the standard crest for their badges.

Billy,

Cross is Masonic,

I believe knights Templar hat badge looks to be pre ww2 by the quality.

I always get confused with police/tramways/corpoation badges.

I had discounted police based on an old post which showed their badge.

You place far too much reliance on what you find on the internet! Oldham Police used no fewer than seven different variations of headdress badge featuring the arms and wreath, with two of those having the inclusion of a KC.
