Default Monmouthshire/SWB Glengarry QVC

Hi All

Can anyone tell me very precisely what unit this badge represents? The pic is off the internet so this is not a "is it fake?" question.

I have gone through K&K and can't find it. A K&K ref would be helpful if you have one.

Thanks,

Tom

It is a fantasy badge from the Martin Marsh catalogue.

Apologies for my ignorance. What does this mean? I'm intrigued!

Personally I define fantasy items as:

Fantasy = an item which was neither officially authorised nor issued or made/worn unofficially and it’s existence is solely due to a fictitious creation by fakers for the collector market.

Re Marsh:

From the late 1980s Martin Marsh of Whaley Bridge, Nr. Stockport began publishing an annual catalogue with price list of reproduction metal badges offered for sale.

These reproduction badges were priced £1 to £2.50 and over time the catalogue expanded from a single to 3 volume booklet. The last such catalogue appears to have been published circa 2006.

If you have patience and a sense of humour it is all in this long thread:

Gordon Bennett, I'd missed viewing that thread in the past, amusing, but that's a few minutes of my life I'll never get back (I gave up a few pages in).
A reminder that fruit loops were around and yapping well before the current crop hogging the media.
And I've learned that the common but sus badge subject of the thread is fake rather than repro.

Just a quick addition to the thread; the seller of the item subject of this thread is a well known seller of pony items and there are currently at least a dozen of them being offered on ebay.

Regards.
