My "favourite" broken badge on ebay is another sellers Somerset Light Infantry one - badge minus it's snapped of "JELLALABAD" scroll buy it now £5, the seperate snapped off "JELLALABAD" scroll buy it now £5.
I must remember to snap in half any badges I might want to sell one day, double my money. |

It’s depressing isn’t it I totally resent all the crax being sold and all the scumbags doing stuff like this my mate lost out to some medals recent,y WW2 in box with slip and paperwork a few days later all relisted seperate items I feel sorry for people who are starting out and don’t know how to navigate all this stuff

I love the ebay characters who split a WWI named medal group down to individually offered medals, ribbons and brooch bar.
Simply means I'm not interested in a group I may have bid for, disgusted by such practises and don't fancy winning some of the medals and not others. |

Splitting medals
When my Uncle died over twenty years ago we found in his toolbox a 1914/15 star with a Victory medal ribbon which had been issued to his Father who served in the Great War, after the funeral I mentioned this to his brother who said that as his Father had three children he gave them a medal each.
People were doing this back then! Rob |

Yes, a very common practise.

Not the same thing at all Rob we all know that WW1 medals were often split between family siblings etc this is not the same as buying stuff in 2021 and splitting it it up. I’m old skool and I know that there is lots of slack given to dealers by some on here but it annoys me personally.

It certainly is but it’s not beyond the realms of a cheapskate officer to wear one.

Maybe, if an officer could get away with wearing one instead of a collar badge, but it would seem a little foolish to spend £27.88 on the ebay broken badge.
