Although I've never heard of it but you might find it in the War Office; Royal Army Clothing Department (1855 - 1939) at the National Archives (ref TNA WO 359/ >>>). They had overall responsibility for clothing, accoutrements, insignia and their storage. Specific Patterns were sealed by the ACD and became official issue. The twenty one volumes of the ACD record all Sealings as well as other important decisions.
I'm not sure that you can link from Canada - ask sometime who can look it up (I'll probably be there in a month or two). I just looked up a 1916 WO order of badges, but nothing with the Accounting in it.

You might search the National Archives online.

good luck.

Had a look at the RAPC website :

Quote:
1878 - The Pay Sub-Department was renamed the Army Pay Department. It was still manned entirely by officers, but in 1893 a separate Army Pay Corps was set up to provide administrative workers and clerks from among the other ranks.

1905 - The Army Pay Department was renamed the Army Accounts Department.

1920 - Both units received a 'Royal' prefix in recognition of their contribution. By the end of that year, they had been merged to form the Royal Army Pay Corps. This later absorbed the personnel from the Corps of Military Accountants, which had been formed in 1919 to deal with financial matters not related to pay and disbanded in 1925.

No badges, just a couple of buttons (because they were in front of me) - Army Pay Department c1878 - c1902, and c1901 - c1905.

I would drop a 'private message' to Toby Purcell who is very good on this sort of thing - early uniforms, badges etc.
