I caught this by accident browsing E-bay Mother in law said to put £30 as an Xmas present clicked next page and saw the Busby!
So! mothers £30 I made up the rest if! i won? fortunately I did! I think cheaply as i won it for £56 ish with postage £63.50 but have wanted one for a long time and did,nt really expect to find one!
IT is in a lovely condition but at size 55 a small fit "yes! I tried it on!" I think I was size 57?
The bloke in the RAF that I was hoping to get the badge for you was posted to London as Staff member somewhere so did,nt get it for you unfortunately!
All the best for Xmas billy

Unfortunately missing its chinstrap.

I am fortunate to own 2 - one for a bandsman, similar to that shown and another to a Warrant Officer/Bandmaster with comes with a red plume and a bullion version of the officer's badge - and worn only by the 4 WO/Bandmaster of the RAF Music Service.

Will see if I can compose the pictures and upload.

Default Warrant Officer's Busby badge

Hello again,

This is the badge worn on the Warrant Officer's Busby, sorry I don't have a photo of it on its busby to hand.

And that badge is worn only by 4 guys in the whole RAF.

There is an excellent book on the RAF Bands titled "music in Blue" by Gil Singleton, a former Warrant Officer/Bandmaster - who is now the Director of Music for the Air Cadets in the rank of Wing Commander (VRT).

I will attempt to photograph my Warrant Officer Busby and post in the next day or so.

John
